

A lecturer of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU), Hubari Gulo, S.Sn., M.Sn., was appointed as a judge at the 2026 North Sumatra Arts Festival organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy of North Sumatra Province at Plaza Medan Fair, from May 8–10, 2026.
This participation reflects FIB USU’s tangible contribution to supporting the development of arts, the preservation of regional culture, and the strengthening of collaboration between higher education institutions and local government in advancing the cultural and creative economy sectors in North Sumatra.
FIB USU PR - From Friday to Sunday, May 8–10, 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, through its Undergraduate Program in Ethnomusicology, participated in the 2026 North Sumatra Arts Festival organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy of North Sumatra Province. The event was held at the parking area of Plaza Medan Fair, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Medan.
The activity was part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between the Provincial Government of North Sumatra and Universitas Sumatera Utara based on a Memorandum of Understanding concerning the Improvement of Development Quality in achieving an advanced, excellent, and sustainable North Sumatra Province.
In this event, FIB USU assigned one of its academics in the field of dance arts, Hubari Gulo, S.Sn., M.Sn., who also serves as Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Ethnomusicology at FIB USU, to act as a judge at the 2026 North Sumatra Arts Festival.
FIB USU participation in this event demonstrates the university’s active role in supporting the development of arts and culture, as well as preserving the cultural heritage of North Sumatra. Furthermore, the involvement of FIB USU academics is expected to strengthen the synergy between higher education institutions and regional government in advancing the cultural and creative economy sectors.
