HUMAS FIB USU - on Thursday, August 6, 2026 The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a Workshop on Optimizing the Use of E-Learning for Learning in the Digital Era. The workshop took place at the FIB USU Multipurpose Building and was attended by university leaders, administrative staff, and lecturers from FIB USU.

The workshop was organized as part of FIB USU’s efforts to strengthen the implementation of digital learning and enhance the capacity of lecturers in utilizing e-learning platforms to support the teaching and learning process. The activity also served as a forum for lecturers to develop their understanding of effective digital learning practices in response to the rapid development of educational technology.

The event was attended by Dr. Zulfan, S.S., M.Hum. (Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations); Ely Hayati Nasution, S.S., M.Si., CIT (Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure); Andi Pratama Lubis, S.S., M.Hum. (Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization); representatives from the FIB USU administrative divisions; and lecturers from across FIB USU.

The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to explore the optimal use of e-learning in supporting various aspects of the learning process. Through the activity, lecturers were encouraged to make greater use of digital learning resources and technologies to create learning experiences that are more flexible, interactive, and responsive to the needs of students in the digital era.

The optimization of e-learning is also expected to support the continuous improvement of teaching quality at FIB USU. By strengthening lecturers’ digital competencies, the faculty can further develop innovative approaches to teaching while maintaining academic quality and fostering greater student engagement.

The activity reflects FIB USU’s commitment to adapting to technological developments in higher education. The integration of digital learning into the academic environment is expected to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning while preparing students with the competencies needed to navigate an increasingly digital and interconnected world.
