FIB USU PR - August 10, 2026 — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU) held a final preparatory meeting for the Campus Life Orientation Program for New Students (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru/PKKMB) on Monday, August 10, 2026. The meeting was held in the FIB USU Meeting Room as part of the final stage of preparations for the upcoming PKKMB program for new students.
The meeting was attended by Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Dr. Zulfan, S.S., M.Hum.; Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure Ely Hayati Nasution, S.S., M.Si., CIT; Vice Dean for Research, Community Engagement, Cooperation, and Internationalization Andi Pratama Lubis, S.S., M.Hum.; as well as section heads, heads of study program secretariats, and the entire FIB USU PKKMB organizing committee.
The final meeting served as a coordination forum to ensure that all parties involved in the PKKMB program were adequately prepared. The coordination brought together faculty leadership, administrative units, study programs, and the organizing committee to ensure that all aspects of the program could be prepared in a structured and integrated manner.
As an important component of the new student admission and orientation process, PKKMB plays a key role in introducing students to the academic environment, learning systems, student activities, and various services and facilities available at FIB USU. Therefore, thorough preparation and cross-unit coordination are essential to ensuring that the program is conducted in an orderly manner and provides new students with a positive first experience of university life.
The involvement of section heads, study program secretariat heads, and the entire PKKMB organizing committee also highlighted the importance of coordination and synergy among faculty and study program administrators. This collaboration is expected to ensure that the program is implemented according to the respective roles and responsibilities of all parties involved.
Through the final meeting, FIB USU continued to finalize various aspects of PKKMB preparations while reaffirming its commitment to organizing a program that is informative, educational, well-structured, and supportive of students’ transition into higher education.
