FIB USU PR - Tuesday, July 21, 2026 The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), participated in the Basic Learning Management System (LMS) Workshop for FIB USU Lecturers, organized by the Directorate of Learning Digitalization of Universitas Sumatera Utara, at the Library and Information Science Study Program Building, FIB USU. The workshop formed part of the university's ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation in higher education by strengthening lecturers' competencies in utilizing online learning technologies.
The event was attended by Ely Hayati Nasution, S.S., M.Si., CIT, Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure; Andi Pratama Lubis, S.S., M.Hum., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization; the Heads of Administrative Subdivisions; and all lecturers of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The workshop aimed to enhance lecturers' capabilities in managing digital learning through the USU Learning Management System (LMS), enabling them to deliver more effective, integrated, and technology-enhanced teaching that meets the evolving demands of higher education in the digital era.
Throughout the workshop, participants received practical, hands-on guidance on utilizing the LMS platform, including developing course materials, managing virtual classrooms and learning activities, creating and distributing student assignments, and conducting integrated assessments through the USU LMS. This training equipped lecturers with the practical knowledge and technical skills needed to maximize the platform's features and effectively integrate them into their teaching practices.
Through this initiative, FIB USU expects its lecturers to optimize the use of the Learning Management System in delivering more innovative, effective, and efficient learning experiences. Beyond improving the quality of teaching and learning, the workshop also demonstrates the faculty's commitment to fostering a sustainable digital learning ecosystem that supports educational excellence across Universitas Sumatera Utara.
