FIB USU PR - On Monday, September 28, 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), and the Public Broadcasting Institution Radio Republik Indonesia (LPP RRI) held the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and an Implementation Agreement (IA). The event, held at FIB USU, was followed by a novel discussion.

The signing of the MoA and IA marked an effort to strengthen institutional relations between FIB USU and LPP RRI while creating opportunities for collaboration in areas related to education, culture, literacy, and knowledge development.

Collaboration between a higher education institution and a public broadcasting organization offers broad opportunities, particularly in supporting the dissemination of knowledge and information to the wider community. Through this partnership, the academic potential and institutional resources of both organizations can be developed through activities that benefit the academic community and society.

The MoA and IA also serve as a framework for implementing joint programs and activities within the scope agreed upon by both parties. The collaboration is expected to expand FIB USU’s institutional network and create opportunities for more sustainable academic and literacy initiatives.

Following the signing ceremony, the event continued with a novel discussion. The activity served as part of an effort to foster a culture of literacy while providing members of the academic community with an opportunity to engage critically and reflectively with literary works.

The novel discussion encouraged participants to view literary works not only as creative expressions but also as mediums through which human experiences, social realities, cultural values, and issues within society can be explored.

Through the discussion, participants had the opportunity to broaden their perspectives on literary works while developing critical reading skills. The exchange of ideas also contributed to strengthening the academic culture at FIB USU.

The collaboration with LPP RRI further provided an opportunity to connect the academic community with a public broadcasting institution. Such synergy can support the dissemination of knowledge and literacy to the wider public through various forms of communication and media.

Through the signing of the MoA and IA and the subsequent novel discussion, FIB USU continues to expand its collaborative network while strengthening the role of higher education in advancing education, literacy, and culture. The partnership with LPP RRI is expected to be followed by concrete programs and activities that benefit both the academic community and the wider society.
