FIB USU PR - Wednesday, 14 June 2023, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a meeting and signed a collaboration wih SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin, Serdang Bedagai. This activity was attended by the Dean of FIB, Vice Deans I and III of FIB, Chair and Secretary of the study program, as well as representatives from SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin who in this case were represented by the Principal, Vice Principal for Facilities and Infrastructure, Vice Principal for Student Affairs and Teachers.
The event started at 09.30 and was held in the FIB USU Meeting Room. It was opened with welcoming remarks by the Dean of FIB, Mrs. Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A. The Dean explained that with the existence of Key Performance Indicator (IKU) 7, namely collaborative and participatory classes, this collaboration becomes a strength for FIB to pursue targets through activities carried out by students and lecturers and with the hope that students will make FIB USU a their choice of further education.
The event continued with remarks by the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin, Mr. Ahmad Husein, S.Pd., M.Sc. He said that FIB USU was the first institution to offer collaboration. He hopes that both parties develop programs in the arts and sciences that can be implemented in schools. Next is the process of signing the collaboration between the FIB USU and SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin which was signed directly by the Dean of FIB and the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin. It was witnessed by representatives of both parties. The event continued with a discussion between the study program and SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin.
The signing event for this collaboration took place smoothly and as planned. It is hoped that this collaboration can become a bridge to improve the quality of education and teaching for each party. It is also hoped that this will be able to develop students' interest in the FIB USU by being oriented towards science with characteristics regarding arts and culture.
