FIB USU PR - The Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., attended the Meeting of the Association of Humanities Education Providers (Perkumpulan Penyelenggara Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Humaniora/P4H), held from 8–11 July 2026 at Hotel Aruss, Semarang. Organized by the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Diponegoro, the meeting brought together deans, vice deans, and representatives from faculties of humanities and cultural sciences from universities across Indonesia.

The participation of the Dean of FIB USU in this national forum reflects the faculty's commitment to strengthening the governance of higher education in the humanities while fostering collaboration among higher education institutions in addressing current challenges and opportunities in humanities education.

The meeting focused on several strategic agendas, including strengthening the institutional framework of P4H, revising its Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART), and accelerating the establishment of the Independent Accreditation Agency for Humanities (Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Humaniora/LamHum). Participants also discussed the future direction of the organization to ensure stronger governance and support the continuous improvement of the quality of humanities higher education at the national level.

During the discussion sessions, participants exchanged views on organizational membership, the refinement of the AD/ART, and strategies for expediting the establishment of LamHum. The discussions also covered the preparation of qualified academic staff as prospective LamHum assessors and the expansion of P4H membership to strengthen the representation of humanities faculties throughout Indonesia.

The meeting resulted in several strategic agreements, including the establishment of a drafting team to finalize the revised AD/ART of P4H, the acceleration of LamHum's establishment process, and the commitment of all member faculties to nominate qualified lecturers as prospective LamHum assessors. These initiatives are expected to strengthen organizational governance while supporting the development of a high-quality independent accreditation system for the humanities.

For FIB USU, participation in this forum provides significant benefits, including strengthening national academic networks, gaining up-to-date information on the development of LamHum, and contributing to the formulation of national policies in the humanities. The outcomes of the meeting will also serve as a foundation for FIB USU in preparing competent human resources as prospective LamHum assessors and enhancing academic governance within the faculty.

As a follow-up, FIB USU will continue to actively participate in P4H's organizational strengthening initiatives, monitor the progress of the AD/ART revision, identify qualified lecturers to be nominated as LamHum assessors, and support the implementation of P4H policies aimed at improving the quality of humanities higher education.

Through its active participation in this national forum, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, reaffirms its commitment to advancing humanities higher education in Indonesia through collaboration, stronger institutional governance, and continuous academic quality improvement.
