FIB USU PR - The Undergraduate of Historical Sciences Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) carried out Community Service in Paya Itik Village, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency with the title "Strengthening Life Attitudes of Tolerance and Harmony Through Arts and Culture Skills in Young Generation". The Community Service is chaired by the Secretary of the Historical Sciences Study Program, Dra. Junita Setiana Ginting, M.Si., accompanied by Historical Sciences lecturer Drs. Edi Sumarno, M.Hum., Ethnomusicology lecturer Sapna Br Sitopu, S.Pd., M.Sn., and students from the Historical Sciences study program.
Paya Itik Village is known as a village with Bajoka identity as an abbreviation for Banjar, Java and Karo. There are 3 dominant ethnicities that inhabit 3 hamlets in this village. The presence of the 3 ethnicities in Paya Itik has their own historical background. They live side by side in an atmosphere of harmony and tolerance. Their strong togetherness makes the surrounding area know the people of this village with the "bajoka" identity.

The community service team has formed an arts group by training teenagers to sing and dance. There is also volleyball coaching. The community service team also donated volleyball uniforms, volleyball equipment and nets to the Paya Itik Village community. The community service team held a friendly competition between Paya Itik Village and other villages. Apart from that, the community service team also created Mars for Paya Itik Village, with the aim of inspiring community enthusiasm and love for their village.
