As a form of commitment to the character development of the younger generation, the Batak Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, carried out a Community Service activity in the form of an educational outreach program for students of SD Negeri 091323 in Merek Raya Village, Raya District, Simalungun Regency. The activity was conducted under the theme “Fostering Harmony and Leaving Bullying Behind” as an effort to create a safe, comfortable, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Through interactive and educational counseling sessions, participants were provided with an understanding of the various forms of bullying, its impacts on both victims and perpetrators, and the importance of fostering mutual respect, appreciating differences, and building harmonious relationships with others. The activity also encouraged students to develop empathy, social awareness, and the ability to resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner.
This program represents a concrete step in instilling character values from an early age while raising awareness of the importance of creating a school culture free from bullying. Through this community service activity, the Batak Literature Study Program continues to demonstrate its commitment to contributing to society through character education that supports the development of a generation that is ethical, confident, and capable of living harmoniously within a diverse community.
