The Undergraduate Program in Malay Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), visited the Consulate General of Malaysia to hold a closed-door meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Malay Literature, Dra. Mardiah Mawar Kembaren, M.A., Ph.D., the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Malay Literature, Arie Azhari Nasution, S.S., M.A., the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Zulfan, S.S., M.Hum., the Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Shahril Nizam Abdul Malek, and representatives from the Center for Malay Cultural Studies (PKBM) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Prof. Khairil Ansari and Winarti, M.Pd.
The meeting was held to discuss a collaborative initiative to promote the Malay language, literature, and culture through a screening of the film Puteri Gunung Ledang, scheduled for August 20, 2026, at the Hall of the Consulate General of Malaysia.
