In the context of USU's ranking based on the world ranking by Times Higher Education (THE) Asia in 2023, USU is ranked 18th and 16th out of 26 rankings on the National Employer Reputation tracker. Dra. Junita stated that USU is trying to improve its QS ranking in 2024 by targeting an Employer Reputation indicator value of 12%. Alumni are expected to contribute through activities such as filling out surveys requested by USU in tracking graduates.

FIB USU PR - Quoted from Vakansiinfo, Jakarta – On Thursday, January 18, 2024, the Head of the History Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU), Dra. Lila Pelita Hati, M.Si, and Secretary of the Historical Sciences Study Program Dra. Junita Setiana Ginting, M.Si held an Alumni Gathering. Dra. Lila and Dra. Junita looked cheerful welcoming a number of guests who gathered at Langit Seduh Roof Top Cafe, lt. 11 101 Urban Hotel Thamrin Jakarta. The guests were Dra's college colleagues, upperclassmen and younger classmates. Lila and Dra. Junita, who is also a former student at USU's Historical Sciences Study Program.

 

"Thank you to colleagues, older brothers, brothers and sisters, alumni of the USU History Study Program (S1) who were willing to gather at the USU Undergraduate Study Program Alumni Gathering event this time in Jakarta." Said Dra. Lila Pelita Hati, Chair of the USU Medan History Study Program, while following the agreement of Dra. Junita, Secretary of the Study Program.


In her speech, Dra. Lila explained that the purpose of the meeting was to support USU in achieving World Class University status, especially by honing the QS World University Rankings ranking from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a world university ranking agency. Towards USU Becoming a World Class University: Alumni in Jakarta Support USU's History Study Program by Contributing. Efforts to improve USU's ranking mainly depend on Employer Reputation, namely the assessment by company leaders of the reputation of alumni who work at the company.

 

"The presence of alumni in various institutions is a valuable asset that can improve the reputation of an institution. "Employer Reputation has a weight of 15 percent in the QS assessment," added Dra. Lila.
