In 2012, Vivi joined the Chinese Literature Study Program at Universitas Sumatera Utara (now the Mandarin Language Study Program), her alma mater. She later pursued her master's degree through a Confucius Institute Scholarship at Jinan University in Guangzhou, China, graduating in 2014.

As a lecturer, Vivi actively participates in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing education, research, and community service. She has also been actively involved in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, serving as a Nusantara Module Lecturer for the Domestic Student Exchange Program (2021), a Field Supervising Lecturer (DPL) for the Teaching Campus Program (Kampus Mengajar), the Certified Internship Program, and the Community Service Program (KKN) from 2019 to the present.
