Rani Arfianty, S.S., M.Phil. was born in Medan, on November 10, 1976. Since being appointed as a permanent civil servant (PNS) lecturer in 2005, she has pursued a career as a permanent lecturer at Japanese Literature Study Program FIB USU. With the sponsorship of The Japan Foundation, she took part in Teaching Methodology Training in Kita Urawa, Japan from 2005 - 2006 and the Capacity Building Program in Osaka, Japan in 2019. She taught Basic to Upper Japanese language courses, as well as Basic to Advanced Japanese conversation courses. In 2015, she completed her master's degree at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
