Junaidi was born in Simpang Empat on 2 February 1993. He is commonly known as Adi. He is a lecturer in the Undergraduate History Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara. He earned his Master of Arts in History from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, in 2020. In addition to his role as a lecturer, Adi is a member of the Center for Cultural and Ethnic Studies at Universitas Sumatera Utara, the Indonesian Historical Society (2021–2026), and the Cultural Heritage Expert Team of Deli Serdang Regency (2021–2024). His research and publications focus on the history of colonial Indonesia. His research interests include socio-economic history, socio-political history, and the history of science and medicine.
